Intersections was developed in collaboration with the performers. The intent was to use a collaborative process to understand the humanity and shared experiences of someone else through embodied dialogue instead of verbal discussion. At the outset of the project, the dancers did not know each other. The process involved reflective writing on questions, the exploration of movement responses, then weaving our movement together into a physicalized duet conversation. Intersections is about the edges that define and contextualize relationships. The work is about time, memory, and exploring the nuances of human connection.
